Quality Control That Never Blinks: AI & Tech DD for Polysense's $10.7M Seed

January 1, 2026

Quality Control That Never Blinks

Polysense puts computer vision on food production lines — AI-powered inline quality control that catches what human inspection can’t, trained with synthetic data. Before Felix Capital led the $10.7M seed round, PHILIPPS & BYRNE examined the models, the factory-floor deployments and the team.

  • Sector: FoodTech · Computer Vision
  • Target Geo: Belgium · Europe
  • Client Geo: London, UK · Europe
  • Deal: $10.7M Seed
  • Assessment: 2026

The Deal

Food manufacturers throw away enormous value because quality control is manual, sampled and slow. Polysense automates it inline: computer-vision models watching every product on the line, with synthetic data closing the gap where real defect examples are rare. Felix Capital led the oversubscribed seed round, with Fortino Ventures and angels participating, to take the platform from Belgian flagship customers to global production lines.

The DD question for a company at this stage: do the early results scale — technically, operationally, and economically?

Assessment Angles

  • Vision models & synthetic data — how detection models are trained, evaluated and adapted.
  • Factory-floor deployment — inline inference under production constraints.
  • Data foundations — what the platform learns from every deployment, and whether that compounds.
  • Scalability of rollout — the path from pilots to repeatable deployments across customers and geographies.
  • Team — does the team combine computer-vision depth with manufacturing pragmatism?
  • Roadmap credibility — does the expansion plan match the platform’s maturity?

What the Target Takes Away

The Polysense team received a candid, engineering-level readout alongside the investor report — an outside view on models, deployment machinery and roadmap.
