Technology Due Diligence on Ember’s Full-Stack Approach to Electric Buses

Ember’s innovative 'full-stack' model, encompassing ultra-fast charging infrastructure, route design and operation, and vehicle development in collaboration with manufacturing partners, represents a comprehensive approach to modernizing public transport.

The due diligence process led by Philipps & Byrne focused on assessing the viability, scalability, and sustainability of Ember's technology and operations. It encompassed a detailed examination of Ember's tech leadership and team, product management, tech stack, and architecture, as well as hosting and infrastructure. Furthermore, we scrutinized Ember's processes related to quality assurance, security, compliance, and privacy.

This included an evaluation of EmberOS, Ember's digital platform that seamlessly manages its network and enhances customer experiences, alongside the development of new charging hubs powered significantly by renewable energy sources.

The insights provided by Philipps & Byrne offered Inven Capital a detailed perspective on Ember's readiness to scale, its competitive edge in the transportation sector, and the long-term viability of its electric bus network.

About Ember

Ember building the future of public transport — convenient, affordable, connected and zero-emission. Their goal is to make it easier and more enjoyable to get from A to B with Ember than it is with your own car. They are a tech company, not a traditional bus operator. They've built a platform that coordinates our entire operation – everything from monitoring vehicles and controlling chargers to selling tickets and calculating ETAs. This allows them to use electric buses more intensively than anyone else in the world, leading to a massive emissions reduction. It also helps them provide a much better passenger experience, with innovative features like demand-responsive stops.
